As a credit broker we have business relationships with numerous UK credit providers and debt advisors. Our website is linked to other third party websites. We are not responsible for their privacy policies or practices. Our Privacy Policy only applies to the debt lifeline website.

How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, most obviously (but not exclusively) when you apply fordebt advice. In these examples you submit your data using our in-house enquiry forms.

What type of information is collected from you?

We may collect, store and use the following information:

  1. When you surf our website, Information relating to your computer and how you use our website, for example which pages you have visited on our site or how long you stay on our site. In general this data is not personally identifiable.
  2. When you make an enquiry for debt advice, in addition to the types of information in 1. above we will also collect and store the following personal information:

Information to allow us and our debt advisors to contact you – name, addresses, email & phone numbers, etc

Other information that you are asked for when you apply online including date of birth, Housing status (tenant or homeowner). We collect this information so that we can make an enquiry on your behalf to our panel of debt advisors.

How is your information used?

The personal information that you give us will be used by us so that we can identify you, provide you with relevant information, improve your browsing experience by personalising the website and enable you to apply for debt advice on our website.

For all debt advice/debt management/IVA enquiries your information is passed in real time to our panel of debt advisors so that we can present you with a personalised list of debt advisors. These debt advisor responses are presented to you on the thank you pages of our website after making an application. You also consent to these debt advisors contacting you by email/phone/text and post to discuss your debt help/debt management/IVA enquiry.

All personal information will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and other relevant legislation including, from 25 May 2018, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations, as applicable, to protect the privacy of such information. We never provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of marketing and would never sell your data on.

Why do we share your personal data?

As described above your data is shared with our debt advisors only so that we can provide you with a real time debt advice service. We do not share your data with any other parties including reference agencies. If you provide false or inaccurate information and our partners suspect fraud, they will record this.

We would also use your personal data in any legal proceedings. We are required by law to disclose your personal data to law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to prevent unlawful activity.

We will never disclose your personal data to any third parties for the purposes of marketing, nor will we transfer the information to another country.

How secure is your personal data?

At Piggy Finance LTD we ensure we have technical and organisational processes in place to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. All information is stored on our secure, password and firewall protected servers.

However, due to risks associated with data transmission over the internet, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

How can you access and control your personal data?

You have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you free of charge. You will need to include evidence of your identity and address with your request letter. We accept a photocopy of your passport, driving license or other valid signature ID. Please specify on your letter what information you need access to, including any account or reference numbers where applicable.

Right to erasure of your personal information

Under the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (effective from 25 May 2018) you have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of and request deletion of your personal data under certain circumstances, for example, if you have not taken out a loan with us or the statutory period for which we need to hold your data has expired. When we no longer need personal information, we securely delete or destroy it.
